Tennis v KGS (A) 21st June 2011

James & Robert lost to the KGS number 1 pair, Pouya & Mazigh having been 1-5 down, fought back to get to 5-5 before finally losing 5-7.  With 2 late withdrawals to the team, Zain found himself having to partner some old player in the doubles – but they won 6-4.

In the singles James beat their Number 1, although he made winnng look difficult at times.  Despite some resistance nobody else was able to win their singles – ah – I forgot to mention that the Old Player also won his match… but felt a bit miffed that his suggestion that he played as Number 2 had been so easily rejected by the majority of the team 😛

A brilliant tea was organised by James’ mum and was eaten in pavilion, where on the honours boards we saw James’ dad & grandad’s names for representing England and Wales at hockey.

Hopefully next year we will again be entered into the Aegon Team Tennis League for Year 10/9.
