Swimming Champion Feb 2011


Congratulations Tom – awesome performances in the Ponds Forge Pool at Sheffield, saw all the hard work – training up to 6 days a week in the pool at all times of the day pay off big time when he was rewarded with a fist full of medals and the title of National Champion over the Individual Medley.

Tom, joined KRSC’s AAA squad in December, and won a gold and three silvers at the National Junior Disability Championships at Ponds Forge over the weekend of 26th and 27th February. Thomas who was competing in the S7 classification and 14-16 year old age group, won his gold in the 100IM.  His silvers came in the 50m and 100m freestyle, and the 100m backstroke, where he finished behind North East swimmer Josef Craig who is on the GB world class development programme.

Thomas competed in five individual events and two relays.  He achieved three PBs and helped the London team to eighth place in the team rankings.
