This 1st round match of the 1st ever U16 ISFA “Small School’s” Competition will start at 2 30 pm this Wednesday on grass – at Richardson Evans Memorial Playing Fields.
The match is scheduled to be 40 mins each way – so stamina will certainly play it’s part. King Alfred’s is a slightly bigger school than Canbury – having 24 boys in a year group… so only twice our size 😛 Some of the others in the competition will have quite a few more than that – they are allowed up to 55 boys in Year 11…
As the visitors will have travelled for about an hour and will have at least the same amount of journey time back I am – I am keen that after the match we provide a good tea to suitably celebrate the occasion. If there are any parents able to assist James’ mum that would be most welcome. Please don’t consider rushing off after the game – I expect players to change and to have tea before waving off the visitors.
Match starts 2 30 pm
We DO NOT change at Canbury – but travel from school at 13 20 by #85 bus, having eaten lunch and collected KIT – purple shirts and maroon socks – you need to provide black shorts and to have suitable boots for grass… There will be a neutral referee – so make sure you have shin pads – he/she may not let you play if you are not kitted out correctly.
Match finishes 4 pm
Departure after match 4 45ish, Extra time will have to be played in the event of a draw at the end of normal time… (10 mins each way) followed by penalties if needed…
